The maker
Knitting patterns rooted in wild places.
"Every color decision begins outside — not at a yarn store."
I grew up moving through open country — the kind of landscape that makes you feel small in the best possible way. Desert sandstone, prairie grasslands, the long blue ridge of a mountain range in the early morning. I've been knitting since I was young, but it took years before those two worlds — the terrain and the craft — found each other.
Desert Mountain Knits is where they meet. Each pattern starts with a place: a canyon I walked, a ridgeline at dusk, the precise way topo lines cluster where the ground drops away fast. I translate those shapes and colors into stitch structure — into the actual architecture of a garment.
I design for knitters who want their work to feel like somewhere real. Not just "earthy tones" as an aesthetic gesture, but the actual palette of a specific kind of light on a specific kind of stone. That specificity is what I'm chasing in every pattern.
All patterns are tech-edited and test-knitted before release. Sizing runs XS through 3XL on most garments. I believe in generous ease options and clear, unfussy instructions.

Design doesn't happen at a desk. These are the raw materials — the walks, the sketches, the swatches pinned to a wall.
